Thankfully, we did not have to use this insurance for our recent trip, though we thought we might have to when our luggage was lost enroute from Amsterdam to Edinburgh, Scotland. However, it was comforting to know that we had this financial coverage during our trip and it was a super-easy application process. We have already used InsureMyTrip again for an upcoming river cruise in March of 2019!

I had always bought trip insurance in the past because of my mother's advanced age and failing health. However, for this trip to Africa, I questioned buying it because my mother had passed away and my husband and I were in great health......no foreseeable reasons to cancel. After debating the pros and cons of buying such a policy, my more conservative side won out and I bought the insurance so I could sleep at night. Then the fractured ankle and the subsequence surgery happened a short time before our departure. Global Alert made the claim process relatively easy. All calls were either handled immediately or calls were returned within the day (usually within the hour). Once I provided all the documentation, we received our check, covering all our expenses, minus what our tour company had refunded to us, within 2-3 weeks. I will never second guess the need for trip insurance for any major trip in the future. I would certainly look to Global Alert Preferred again to provide that coverage.

We had to file a claim because we had to return early due to a death in the family. At first I filed the claim with TripMate, the firm that processes claims for Global Alert, and they were somewhat slow in responding to my questions and confirming receipt of my submissions. Calling them required me to wait a long time on hold.
Then I received a note in the mail that a different firm, Broadspire, would process my claim and had received materials I had submitted. The letter was signed by the person handling my claim, and included her phone and e-mail contact info. I spoke with her a few times and she was very clear about the additional information I needed to submit. Having a specific person to speak with was very reassuring, and although I had hoped the process would move a little faster, I did receive a very fair amount for my claim. I would want to use this insurance company and claims processor again if I ever have another issue.

We had high hopes for this plan. The initial customer service was helpful and professional. We had to cancel the trip because of an accident and filed a claim. Although the claim was processed fairly, it took about three months to get the refund. There were no additional questions asked of our medical providers and we did receive our full refund, but it took so long that I would seriously consider paying more to a different carrier.

We used this insurance last summer, and we had a small claim because of a flight delay that caused us to miss a connection -- and this small claim took months to process. There was never any question about whether our claim was covered, but it just took a very long time for the company to process the claim. In addition, the website did not always accurately reflect the status of our claim. This summer, however, we had no claim to file, and all was fine.

I LOVE Insure My Trip. I have used your company on several trips my husband and I have taken and I always have a good experience. I always call your representatives to get their expertise on which plan I should purchase. They are consistently expert, knowledgeable, courteous and primarily concerned that the client purchases the best product for their trip at the best price. I will continue to use Insure My Trip in the future and recommend to friends and family.
