I am mostly interested in med evac coverage plus the medical. I would like to know, how does the rates change with the lead time from the departure date, is it cheaper to buy the coverage closer to the departure date or further from the departure date?

With regard to satisfaction with plan, that would have been entirely dependent on how a claim was handled. I have recommended InsureMyTrip. and would also recommend Global Alert. The comparisons between plans are quite easy if you understand insurance and I am a repeat customer to InsureMyTrip

I did not need to make a claim on this insurance but was happy with the purchase. I chose this insurance specifically because it allowed for trip cancellations for work emergencies. Thankfully, my husband didn't have a work emergency but it was nice to know we were covered if he did.

In the wake of our return from our cruise during the weekend of Hurricane Irene, it was comforting to know that we were sufficiently covered by Global Alert. Fortunately we had a wonderful cruise, and no interruptions in our travel plans back home to Ohio.
