I tried to cancel this insurance before my trip. However, every time someone called me to respond, they thought I was trying to file a claim. After the 3rd phone call, they said they would email a claim form to me, but I never got it. I consider that I was very lucky we did not need to make a claim.

Always best to never have to use travel insurance! We have used InsureMyTrip for years and travel with peace of mind that we have help if needed.

I took this coverage out so that if for any reason I needed to cancel I would be able to and get back most of my money. Luckily I did not have to cancel, but the peace of mind that I had knowing that I could was worth the money.

The main reason we bought this plan was because it covered changes in work. We have had many trips cancelled due to work beyond our control and global alert was one of the few plans that covered it.

The customer service rep we spoke to was terrific! She was knowledgeable and offered all ranges of coverage without pressure.
Fortunately, we didn't have any travel issues but glad we had Global Alert coverage in the event our travels were interrupted. It was added peace of mind and we had a great trip without worry.

Although the Global Alert plan provides a good package overall, be aware that if you have to file a claim, you are in for a prolonged struggle. Our Global Alert claim was processed by a company called Trip Mate. Trip Mate uses every tactic to delay payment as long as possible. Expect misinformation, conflicting communication, lost evidence, erroneous data entry, etc. With all the issues, Trip Mate is either very incompetent or intentionally deceptive. If you file a claim, be relentless in your pursuit of justice!
