Global Alert! Preferred Plus
I purchased Global Alert Preferred Plus, as it allows cancellation for any reason. The only drawback is that you must cancel two days in advance, if it's for one of the non-covered reasons. I would like to see this changed to 24 hours (or even 12). Other than that, I thought the coverage provided was excellent and I had a worry-free vacation (once I knew I didn't have to cancel).

The process was very long and drawn out. At the end of the day I was satisfied with the compensation amount. I was, however, not at all satisfied with the whole process. My loss was reported on 2/5/2011. I provided all the requested documentation on 2/16/2011. I did not receive a check until 5/5/2011, exactly 3 months after the initial loss. In addition to providing all the requested documentation on 2/16/2011, on 3/22/2011, it was requested of me (after I CALLED IN to check the status of things) to send a lot of the same documentation that had been sent over one month prior. I provided essentially the same documentation on 3/25/2011, with more explanation. It still took more than another month for my claim to be processed, after several more phone calls on my part.

My claim was processed in a timely manner and every representative I spoke with was helpful and treated me with respect as one of your customers. I am extremely satisfied with this service and I will absolutely purchase this insurance for my future travel needs.

Although the amt refunded was correct, it was definitely not processed promptly. It took over a month to obtain our refund and that was after having to call at least 4 times to follow up. We kept getting apologized to but nothing seemed to get accomplished although the employees stated to us several times you should have already received it by now. Then we received one check and a letter stating we obtained both checks. When I called again, they informed me that there in fact was an error and only one check had been sent and we had to wait again another week to receive the second one. So although I thought it was a decent price for the coverage and the refund amt was correct, the refund process was indeed exhausting with poor satisfaction.
