The plan seemed to be pretty comprehensive in it's coverage and at a competitive price. Fortunately, we didn't need the coverages purchased, however, that may be the only true way to evaluate the company, by seeing how they react to claims.

Am not a frequent overseas traveler; therefore, since you have a 24-7 response line, can you just have that telephone no. shown, along with the "key strokes" that are necessary to call that no. from anywhere in the world? That way, I can have it on "speed dial" in case of an emergency.

Good comprehensive policy at a price we were willing to pay. Easy to obtain online. Thank goodness we didn't need to file a claim but the peace of mind was worth the price.

I was affected by the recent ground crew strike at the two airports in Berlin, Germany. I was schedule to fly into the Berlin airport on Monday, but due to the extension of the strike from 24 hours to 48, I wasn't going to be able to reach Berlin until Wednesday that week. This meant that I would miss my connection (a train to elsewhere in Germany) by 1.5 hours. As I knew this would be the case, I called April Travel Protection and told them my predicament. Based on the rules associated with this plan, I would have had to travel to Berlin and miss my connection before they would actually help me figure out how to continue my trip. Meaning I had to land in Berlin and then call them to get help to get me back on schedule. How long would that have taken? I understand the limits of my coverage, but I also would like to be able to take preemptive steps to avert wasted time on my vacation.

As you found out when contacting April Travel Protection, there is no reimbursement for the preemptive measures that you might decide to take in order to avoid wasting your vacation time. As in all Comprehensive plans, you would first have to be delayed en route to or from the Covered Trip for 6 or more hours due a defined Hazard, such as a strike, before you can file a claim for the additional travel expense.
This is not the first time that we have heard your complaint. Although your comments are logical, many of the state insurance departments would first have to approve such coverage. However, as of today, we do not know of any travel insurance plans that are offering that higher level of coverage.Apr 03,2017

I've used APRIL for all my travels. Had to file one claim under "Cancel for Any Reason". No problems or delays getting money back for claim. VERY IMPRESSED with service and being updated on claim status.

After you complete your purchase, you would receive two separate confirmation emails. The first email would be from your insurance provider, which would provide you with the full certificate of your policy, your schedule of benefits and your contact information. The second email would come from us at InsureMyTrip.com.
