I did not use the policy but following an 11 hour flight from Athens, when my connector flight threatened to delay, I was feeling glad I was carrying 6 hour travel delay coverage. The one hour flight was supposed to leave at 6 pm but the airline had to search for another plane, and that was looking to be a long night. Since I received a generous voucher for part of my airline ticket, my one concern for the policy as a whole was that there was not a high enough coverage limit available for a worse case travel delay or interruption (since it is limited by the amount paid for the trip not including the voucher), however I believe all insurers have this limitation. I did have very good coverage for a more common delay such as an all night delay at the airport.

Very pleased with my dealings with you. Only negative comment would be that the insurers, who had been more reasonably priced than our travel company, are now beginning to lose their competitive edge, making it less enticing to use them versus our travel companies own insurer.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Typically, our providers calculate premium based on trip cost, duration of travel, and traveler ages. It is possible that travel suppliers use a different system in determining premium.May 19,2014

We, unfortunately, had to file a claim as we were not able to travel due to a health issue. We were careful in purchasing the plan, to make sure we understood what was covered, and made sure to keep all documentation. We did get reimbursement for the full amount that we claimed and were, of course, satisfied with that. There was a bit of delay in processing the claim. The claims agent said she was trying to get more verification from our travel agent, but somehow contacted the wrong person, and so did not get a response. I found this out when I called to inquire about the delay. My only complaint is that she asked for proof that we cancelled our airline reservations, knowing that the airlines do not provide any type of proof for that. Fortunately, our travel agent made the cancellation and verified it in writing, which was proof enough. My advice, if you need to file a claim, is just to be very careful and very thorough in keeping written records of all your transactions, especially if you make your own travel arrangements rather than going through a travel agent.

Six days into the cruise I contracted Bronchitis and required several visits to the ship's doctor. This resulted in $2700 in medical expenses. The cruise line provided me with the necessary forms and I filed a claim upon returning home. My claim was processed and full reimbursement made. Glad we had the insurance.
