The TravCan Premier plan is the higher-end comprehensive trip cost protection plan from InsureAssist as it offers greater coverage limits and more options than the TravCan plan. If you are concerned about any pre-existing medical conditions that might affect your travel, this plan will waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion if purchased within 21 days of the initial trip payment and if the full cost of the trip is insured.

We didn't have to use the InsureAssist TravCan Premier plan so that was good. We took a plan with good coverage but, until you have to use it, we can't describe how effective this plan would have been. We just hope that we chose the right one just in case.

It was important to have since I was going outside the United States, and I wanted primary medical coverage so that I would not have to go through my own insurance company first. This coverage gave me the peace of mind I needed for a reasonable price.

Fortunately, I have never had to file a claim, so frankly, how do I really know if the InsureAssist TravCan Premier plan is a good plan? The key is when you NEED to use it. I'm hoping that I will NEVER find out!!

I did NOT have to use the policy but it made me feel much better to have it with such a long and expensive trip. One person in our lodge got bitten by a caymen and had to be evacuated out of the rain forest. He really regretted not having insurance to handle the health care costs and to cover the cost of his 40 day missed trip. The policy was reasonably priced and gave good coverage.

I had no problems with the InsureAssist TravCan Premier plan itself and fortunately never needed to use it, but InsureMyTrip's customer service leaves much to be desired.
