I travel a lot and have always purchased a trip insurance whether traveling in US or international The most important reason is to get a medical/dental coverages. On all the plans I bought in the past many years, the dental was always part of the medical coverage. During my recent trip to Europe a month ago, I lost 2 teeth on my upper dentures. When I called IMG, I found out that the plan I bought, which was recommended by "Insure my Trip", had no dental coverage. For this reason I will not buy a trip insurance from IMG anymore. Also, this would have been the first time, after so many years of purchasing a trip insurance, that I would be submitting a claim. I'm totally disappointed.

Fortunately, we didn’t need to actually use our coverage, but the peace of mind engendered by knowing we had coverage was very important. Sadly, we experienced incredible rudeness and ineptitude from portions of our travel (airlines) which, of course, weren’t covered. Travel is a wonderful thing to be able to do, but sometimes the spiritual price of getting somewhere can be daunting.

The staff at Insure My Trip were very helpful as we purchased the plan, which we assessed to provide the necessary coverage. Our trip did not require us to use the coverage in the plan, so we have no way of judging how well it would have actually worked. We would likely purchase this or a similar plan again.

Unfortunately we had an emergency room visit while on our trip. We did not receive the bill from France until 4 months after the trip. I submitted the claim with an explanation of the delay in filing, and did not hear anything from the insurance company. However, I was pleasantly surprised when a check showed up for the amount we were billed from the Parisian Emergency Room.
I will definitely use this company, and insure my trip again.

Since we didn't experience any problems and had no need to file a claim, we can't really rate the company. However, we did receive a "bon voyage" message before the trip with info on contacting the company, so it was nice to know that the company was aware of our trip. We chose this insurance as it was comparable to that offered by the cruise company and a bit cheaper.

"The Patriot International plan does indeed have dental coverage. The coverage is for the treatment of unexpected pain to natural sound teeth. As the insured indicated in her review, she lost 2 teeth from her upper dentures. This would not be covered."
