HI guys...in extenuating circumstances my trip was postponed by two days, then had to be cancelled, I drove over 2,000 extra Km and had to spend an extra 2,200$ on alternate transport. The kind lady on the phone who spoke w/ mentioned I had to have "proof" of my delay....at an international border there is rarely anyone who will give you "proof" that entry is being delayed, that am aware of. Because I did not have this proof, essentially NONE of my extra expenses were covered and have no way to recover the lost time driving, taking a ferry (for 2,200$) much less any possible refund on the original purchase of insurance policy itself. AM not at all dissatisfied w/ customer service, quite the contrary as ever one have spoken to is really doing their best...would be helpful to know I needed "proof" of delay in the first place, any help that's still available is much appreciated

Response time and processing for claim was slow. We had to contact them twice to ask about status and then they would take action.However, claim was finally paid and payment was fair.

Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Did not have to use. So up front looked to be a good plan. Would most likely use again. I would like to be able to preprint forms for treatment ahead of time, because with the confusion of an injury having forms readily accessible during treatment, would help with not having to correspond with medical staff when leaving vacation for home.

The International Medical Group iTravelInsured LX plan is high-end and covered everything I could imagine that would happen, including travel cancelation and disruption, medical and rescue costs, and rental car insurance. While expensive, it cost several hundred dollars less than another provider's plan that didn't cover nearly as much and also excuded pre-existing conditions. My time spent outside the country was worry-free. I did not need to make a claim, happily. The sales and customer service staff of insuremytrip were excellent, and I will use their services in the future.

On the plus side, they did pay my entire claim, and everyone I talked to was polite. On the negative side, they spent a lot of my time making me jump through hoops to get there, as if you are inherently trying to cheat them. In this case, a $300 hotel room I didn't get to in Alaska after cancelling the cruise to Alaska (for medical reasons). The hotel bill was the subject of several phone calls and emails and documentation requests. Funny, they were fine with paying for the cruise, the expensive part. If they had been gracious about the fraction of the total cost (the hotel), I could have given them a stellar review. I've bought a dozen policies in the past; this is my first claim; if not for the hassle, I'd probably buy from them again and they probably would've made back their $300 on my next buy! (Not to mention the labor costs they are paying for ... people to nitpick over every dime.) In fairness, I must say that this is my first claim; maybe all the companies are like this. One word of advice: one must prove one purchased something: if you are traveling with other people, don't split any prepaid costs, because it is then hard to prove who paid for what when you try to claim it. Pay your own way (with receipts) for all of it. And get cancellation receipts too.

We apologize for the frustration you experienced when filing a claim. On this claim, we received all of the cancellation documentation for the cruise on the initial submission (Invoice, proof of payment, proof of cancellation). However, for the hotel stay we only had the booking invoice, but no proof of payment or cancellation. Sometimes suppliers do make exceptions on cancellations for certain circumstances or issue a credit, so we did need to get the verification of the cancelled segment to complete the claim. I can understand his frustration given the cost of the cruise vs. the cost of the hotel, but proof of loss is required for all segments of a claim.Feb 21,2019

I was fine on this trip, but I used this company for a previous trip and needed to use their services. I received compensation for an "Interruption for any Reason" claim. All worked out. Just remember to have exact amount that you pay for trip insured and call them right away to get you home. Don't do on your own. Keep all receipts. They will do the flight search and booking for you.
