After having purchased my travel insurance through the cruise lines for the last several years (& 5 previous cruises, with 2 different lines) I heard about insuremytrip via a FB page for Carnival cruisers & decided to check it out for my last cruise 11/5-13, 2016. I compared the coverages & pricing of the various companies available there vs what Carnival offered & was pleasantly surprised with the one I ended up choosing, John Hancock's Silver level plan, which is what I ended up purchasing for myself & my 2 adult sons who traveled with me (we drove from MI to Miami where we boarded the ship for our 8 day Southern Caribbean cruise). We did not end up needing to file a claim, thankfully, however, I will ABSOLUTELY purchase future travel insurance from John Hancock via insuremytrip again for our future cruise (& other) vacations & I have already recommended them to my parents who are frequent cruisers as well (primarily with Princess, where they are Elite level, but are also Platinum with Carnival) & know that they plan to purchase from you in the future as well. I have also recommended JH to other friends as well as people on that aforementioned FB page, my own FB page, as well as Cruise Critic. 100% satisfied! :-)

I didn't have to file a claim but I was glad to know the insurance was there if we needed it. I appreciated the ease in selecting coverage, confirmations and their reminder email before our trip to let us know again, our coverage and contact details. Will use them again.

Everything we would be concerned with was covered. Mostly, we wanted coverage if we had medical issues out of country and needed medical care. Also, we wanted to make sure we got home if a medical emergency came up. Fortunately we did not have to file a claim, but I have already told another person about the insurance for a cruise she just booked.

I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the claiming process went. Traveling companion was hospitalized unexpectedly, and medically unable to travel. We got the claim form online, and filed the completed form on January 12. We received payment on the claim on January 30.

Fortunately, we did not have to file a claim. Everything went well. So writing a review is kind of pointless. I thought it was a fair value. However, I had no contact with anyone, so I don't know how the end result would have been. ?
