The Silver plan is the mid-level policy offered by John Hancock and may be ideal for families traveling with children, as kids 17 and under are free as long as one parent is covered under the plan. Coverage is offered if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a typical covered reason which can range from an unforeseen illness, injury or death to your destination being made uninhabitable by a natural disaster. The Silver plan does offer higher limits of coverage than the Bronze plan for Baggage, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

Again, did not have a claim. This was not the first time I have purchased travel insurance through INSUREMYTRIP, nor will it be the last, I hope. That part works well.
As a senior who knows Medicare Advantage does not cover out-of-USA expenses (with a very small exception), medical insurance is vital.
The peace of mind knowing I have it is worth a lot more than the premium cost.
I do think the premium increases for seniors do not reflect how active and healthy many of us are.

I purchased the policy through insuremytrip.com for a 30 day trip to Italy. It was for emergency medical care and evacuation/repatriation. Having the policy provided peace of mind during our trip. We fortunately did not have to file a claim but I felt the money was well spent.
