The MEDEX TravMed Choice Outbound plan is available to U.S. residents who need medical coverage while traveling abroad on trips up to one year in length. There are multiple medical limits to select from, ranging from $10,000 to $500,000. This plan also offers Emergency Medical Evacuation and Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefits, as well as hazardous sports coverage. I purchased a plan from MEDEX for my 6 month trip to Thailand. I went to the hospital twice so I filed a claim when I came back to the states. I never got an email or notification letting me know that my claim had been filed and rejected. I had to call myself. When the insurance policy stated that $100 deductible was required, I did not realize that I had to spend at least $100 to get reimbursed. My health bills only amounted to $41 (1,500 Baht), which I take responsibility for not reading the fine print. Regardless, I will not be using MEDEX in the future.

While the TravMed Choice Outbound plan is a very good plan, we certainly understand your disappointment that the deductible exceeded the incurred medical expenses. Unfortunately, this plan does not offer the ability to chose a 0 USD deductible. In the future, we encourage you to call us at 800-487-4722 so that we can assist you in choosing a plan that does not include a deductible.Jun 30,2016
