While I'm no expert on travel insurance policies, I have worked in the insurance biz and found this policy's language more straightforward than other policies I looked at. Since my trip didn't involve a rental car, I was looking for a policy that didn't include expensive rental car protection and this one fit the bill.

We had a trip interruption due to a medical problem. TruTravel Super Saver would only pay if I was diagnosed in Africa, however I was diagnosed by a doctor in the USA and notified of the condition while we were in Africa.
TruTravel was not at all flexible on this.

I filed an appeal with TruTravel. Their agent was very unresponsive. I had to call and email just to get a response even when one was promised. They denied the appeal, which is what I expected from them. I would never use this company again and recommend you don't use them either. If you have to file a claim, expect it to be denied.Dec 02,2011
