I would advise them to review the plan to determine if they feel comfortable enough to absorb the cost of the trip if some problem caused them to miss their trip date or fail to make the trip at all, then purchase or not. I feel the cost is pricey for a very low risk adventure.

Just having the piece of mind was wonderful....someone did have to be taken off our ship for a medical emergency and all I could think was I hope they have insurance.

Even though I didn't need to use the insurance, I felt better knowing I had it. I'm not sure how smooth a claims process would be since I didn't need to do that, but I would hope that it would be taken care of if you have all the documentation on the issue available.
