Thankfully I never had to use it. Our flight was delayed, but we got a hotel voucher and food vouchers. We knew far enough ahead of time so we kept some clothes out of our checked bags. Hopefully I never have to find out if travel insurance is good or not, but I do like the piece of mind it gives me when I travel.

We purchased this insurance in April to cover a trip we were making in December and wanted coverage in the event that weather or health issues forced us to cancel. As it turned out we had no problems and did not file any claims. We have purchased trip insurance through insure my trip.com several times and only had to file a claim once.

Well as travel insurance goes it’s only good when needed. In the past I had to use my policy with Nationwide and the process was quick and efficient with payment. I will always use Nationwide insurance.

Due to the hurricane, I sent in a claim for my airfare. I did not receive a response. I have since been credited back from the airlines. It would have been nice to have been contacted in a more timely manner about my claims. Turns out the only money I lost on my trip was the money I paid for the insurance I did not end up needing. Poor communication from company.

However, we do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
