I had one change needed to my plan a couple of weeks before we left and the agent with whom I spoke was helpful. The change was easy and I was very pleased with the customer service. Luckily we did not need the coverage to file a claim, but in the time of COVID I was glad I had the insurance. After researching possible companies, this was the one I chose and I'm glad.

It's hard to judge an insurance policy and the company that issued it unless you make a claim, but this policy provided me coverage I wanted for my trip. It gave me comfort that if weather or an emergency cancelled or delayed my trip, I would be reimbursed for my expenses. It also provided coverage for lost luggage and medical treatment and transport.

Since I didn't use the coverage it's hard to provide comments. Rep I spoke with was friendly and did her best to help. I felt like the rules around the policies were more complicated than they needed to be. And if I make a slight change to my travel plans that didn't affect what the policy is covering why am I obligated to inform you? That didn't make sense. It all needs to be simplified.

My husband got a bad cold on our bicycling trip and couldn't continue, because you have to cycle point to point, and he couldn't breathe. We had to leave the trip early and return home. Upon reading our policy after returning home, he would have had to visit a doctor in order to receive compensation from this insurance policy.

We needed to cancel our trip due to an immediate family member's unexpected illness. We filed a claim with Nationwide and were satisfied with the coverage, payment and resolution of the claim; albeit the process took much longer than Nationwide's stated timeline for settling claims However, we fully understand and anticipated that given the many challenges travel insurance companies are presently experiencing with the ongoing pandemic, the process would be delayed. Without this coverage we would have incurred a substantial loss. We are very pleased with the the coverage and resolution of our claim with Nationwide and will utilize them again in the future and recommend them to other travelers.
