Filing a claim is the only way one can judge an insurance company. Unfortunately, my trip was cancelled secondary to snowy conditions. Getting the claim paid was an adventure in itself. I had just about enough when they insisted that they need my 8 year old's signature! The claim finally got paid when I threatened to file a complaint with government agencies.

i bought this insurance for a three-week trip to mexico. compared to the total price of my trip (plane fare, condo rental, etc.), the premium was entirely reasonable for peace of mind in terms of medical emergency, necessity for evacuation, etc.
the provision about coverage in the event of civil unrest (per a warning from the US state dept) was especially useful this year, because there had been violent protests related to political events and also drug cartel killings in mexico just before i left the USA, and i wasn't sure (a) whether to change my mind about going or (b) what i would do if the unrest occurred closer to where i was going.
with the insurance i bought, i felt much more comfortable about costs coverage in the event of some disaster -- medical, political, even family illness or death.
in addition, buying it thru insuremytrip.com was really easy. it would have taken me hours of research to get the info about travel insurance if i had not stumbled onto this website.

I have learned one thing for certain, I will always travel with trip insurance. We were almost hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street. I had my first return flight canceled and had booked my second flight at a separate time. I called Nationwide and they said I would be covered for the cost of any flight changes the airline couldn't resolve. Luckily, the airline payed for my changes. I could have filed for reimbursements from Nationwide because the first flight was 6 hours late, but I forgot to ask for receipts in China, and the $15 I spent in the United States didn't seem worth making a claim.

Nothing to review.....I didn't have to use the Nationwide Prime policy. Reviews are not really good until you have to make a claim. THEN you see how good the company really is.
