I had called a few other companies and was happy that I found C& F Travel. I am sharing the company information with my family and friends. Our luggage for 8 people insured under a policy with Travel Insured was delayed for multiple days in Italy. On day three of wearing the same clothes, we went to a clothing store in Italy and bought the basics to keep us going. The total claim amount for 8 people was less the $400. We submitted the delayed luggage form, the detailed claim form, pictures of the baggage finally arriving, and a credit card receipt from the store in Italy. We proved, without a reasonable doubt, that the claim was legitimate, but the claim was denied because we failed to keep the itemized receipt from the clothing store in Italy. I’m not sure what Travel Insured thinks we bought at “Oviesse Campi Bisenzio” in Florence other than clothing, but apparently the “Integrity” value listed in their corporate values is a bit misleading (“We always do the right thing!”). Just be cautious as when I called ahead of the trip to learn more about the policy, they made the claim process sound so simple and straightforward, but unfortunately it was anything but that. Very disappointing.

Fortunately, I did not need to file a claim with this trip. I did have a claim with C&F for a trip earlier this year to Greece, and they handled it well after a five month wait. They were overloaded with Covid claims, so it was delayed, but I have no complaints. I will continue to purchase their policies.

In attempting to file a complex claim for several flight and port cancelations on a lengthy air/land/sea trip, I found that a.) The online claim software is inadequate to handle multiple issues, and b.) customer service is slow to respond to inquiries and requests other than an automated acknowledgement.
I called for assistance and was summarily dismissed/declined without any review of gathered, supporting documentation. Long cruise. One canceled flight. 4 missed ports (due to weather and port employee strikes), associated inconveniences.
Apparently, inasmuch as I didn't suffer any financial losses (flight replaced, no excursion cost losses incurred, etc.), I was denied. The contract/agreement wording could stand a review and rewrite for improved clarity.
My reading and understanding of the contract differs considerably from that of the insurer. I can find no appeal mechanism.
At least humor me by requesting/reviewing what I prepared but can't be uploaded on the company website. The software isn't programmed to handle concurrent claims.

Once I finally collected on my claim, I was very satisfied. I was fully covered. The problem was, it took 4 months to finally collect. I filed a claim in July. Telephone wait times were totally unacceptable. Once I was literally on hold for 6 1/2 hours. When I finally talked to someone in August, I was told they were working on claims from April. I called again in Sept. and was again told they were working on claims from April. Finally, before I could call again, I got an email that said my claim had been processed. I received exactly what I expected. In the end, I was very glad I bought the insurance.

I called the insurance company to enquire about filing a claim for an "itinerary change". One airline changed the time of one of my flights resulting in a 90 minute later arrival. This change resulted in being unable to catch a connecting flight with another airline. Because the change was less than 2 hours the airline wouldn't help me and said it was a "non-refundable" ticket. I was forced me to purchase a second ticket with another airline so I could catch my second flight. When I bought the insurance I purchased the most expensive one "cancel for any reason" insurance that was supposed to cover "itinerary change". The insurance company told me this "itinerary change" wasn't covered unless it occurred after I had already left on the trip or unless it was a cruise. I did not see anything written about these details in their fine print. I would not recommend this insurance, as it did nothing for me except cost me money.
