Review is based on the purchase as we did not need to use it. I called to make the purchase and the representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to answer all my questions with various travel scenarios. They are not commission based, so there is no upselling. Would use Travelex again!

I didn't need to file a claim, but with the unpredictable winter weather and the partial government shutdown, I felt it prudent to have coverage. A lot could have gone wrong, but didn't. It's like most other insurance - you hope to never use it.

Although expensive- travel insurance is recommended when the weather can be uncertain, or whenever any less obvious or unanticipated travel interruptions/delays may occur. It's easy to understand how the insurance industry can make substantial profits from these policies.

As I say in all these reviews, it's really not possible to do a review if you are not filing the claim. The test of insurance is how easily and completely they pay out what they say they will. Thankfully I had no need to file a claim so I have no idea whether or not it was a good purchase
