For work-related reasons we had to cancel an expensive and long-planned trip to Asia. After conferring with some representatives to clarify a couple of questions I gathered the required documents and submitted the claim entirely online. we received our full reimbursement check without issue within 10 days. I wouldn't hesitate to use Travelex again

Due to a medical emergency requiring surgery, I had to cancel this trip one week before the trip was to begin. The process of filing a claim for the $300 change fee on the airline ticket was extremely detailed, requiring over a dozen separate items AND an 11-question section to be completed by the physician. To ask a busy surgeon to do such paperwork, beyond providing a written excuse on his prescription pad (which he had already done), seemed unrealistic.
Ultimately, we decided not to pursue the claim because of the hassle and the amount of money at stake. In >30 years of traveling with travel insurance, this was our first encounter with the claims-filing process, and it has made us reconsider whether such insurance is worth having.
BTW, I shared all of this information with an agent for the company and never received a response.

We are thankful that we did not need to file a claim on this policy. As such, we can not speak to how well were protected and how easy it would have been to recover any damages. I can say that insuremytrip.com did make my selection and ultimate purchase of this policy very easy.

I was able to add coverage later for the air portion of my trip. It was easy, just a phone call to update the coverage once the plans were complete. Fortunately I did not need to use the medical evacuation portion from Tibet.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The majority of the comprehensive polices we offer allow travelers to increase the insured trip cost. In the event you add additional trip expenses after you purchase a policy, you must call us within 10-30 days (policy specific) of adding the additional expenses so we can re-quote your policy and add the additional trip cost onto your existing policy.Aug 22,2014
