I purchased the Cancel For Any Reason plan. I did have to cancel and promptly filed the claim. I spent many hours providing every single detail and produced a summary document that covered everything. After over 2.5 months of waiting, Trip Mate finally completed the review and have informed me that I will get nothing.... They had managed to find some fine-print in their contract. Nothing at all??? Last time that I use them.

TravelSafe Classic Plus
The TravelSafe Classic Plus plan is perfect if you want to be able to cancel a trip for any reason. It also insures trip interruption, baggage loss, baggage delay, medical evacuation, etc. At our ages (65 & 72), my wife and I definitely want a plan where we can cancel a trip in case of a sudden illness or family emergency. I first heard about this plan from "Consumer Reports", and will consistently purchase this plan any time I want to go on a "big" trip.

Didn't file a claim on this trip, but did about a year ago on another. I was reimbursed 100% within a few weeks and paperwork requirements to file the claim were not too bad. I won't book a trip without this coverage.

The claim service was very slow. Part of what we submitted was denied without citing the specific policy provision relied upon for denial.

    The claim process does appear slow to many travelers. TravelSafe required you to submit your Notice of Claim within 20 days of your loss. However, the claim representative does not review and determine coverage until he has received all forms. This review period may add up to 30 days to the entire claim process, so it may take up to 60 days from the date you first filed your claim until you receive payment.

    As you requested, we did follow up on the unpaid portion of your claim. Under Trip Interruption you were eligible to receive reimbursement for the unused portion of your prepaid non-refundable accommodations and “Additional Transportation Cost” which “means the actual cost incurred for one way Economy Transportation by Common Carrier reduced by the value of an unused travel ticket”.
    Mileage reimbursement for use of your own vehicle was not a covered expense so you did not receive reimbursement for that portion of your claim.

Yes, it was an extra cost ot a vacation, but gave peace of mind for a gulf of FL trip during hurricane system. Will purchase again.

TravelSafe Classic Plus
Unfortunately had to cancel our pricey trip to Deer Valley ski resort in Utah due to my wife's slipped disk in her neck requiring surgery. Our booking was paid in full with a 45 day cancellation requirement or lose entire cost. The TravelSafe policy reimbursed us 100% after submitting a reasonable amount of paperwork, and we received the checks in a few weeks time. I haven't always purchased insurance for every trip, but I will now.

I have purchased travel insurance many times but this is the first time I placed a claim. I had to cancel my trip due to illness in the family. The process was extremely easy. It was also very easy to get updated information on the claim's progress online. When I had a question, a call to customer service was answered promptly. The customer service rep was very pleasant and helpful.

I had my refund check in my hand less than a month after I sent the claim supporting documents to Travel Safe. Thank you so much for making an urgent situation much easier!
