We are booking both round trip flights from New Orleans to Newark today as well as hotel in Paris. Can we buy cancel for any reason insurance? Or does buying the first ticket months ago (and changing the date recently) prevent that?

Regarding "Initial Trip Payment" - if we are on a cruise and put down minimal money ($100-200 pp) that can be applied to any future cruise, is that initial trip payment since we do not know what we will actually be going, but are making a "payment".
