It was very simple to purchase my travel policy. Once I made my payment, I quickly received a payment confirmation and policy number, followed shortly after with my policy documents. The initial cost of the plan was okay when I first purchased the insurance, but when I tried to add more coverage for additional expenses prior to the trip (e.g., paid for a rented an apartment in Paris), the price was outrageously high. I didn't get all the coverage that I wanted because it became too expensive.

Fortunately, I did not have the need to file a claim during my travels. However, the process of purchasing the policy was easy, and I was able to obtain the coverage I needed for my trip. The price was reasonable and the agent that helped me was responsive to my questions. I would consider using the John Hancock policy again in the future.

Ive only had to file a trip insurance claim once due to a health issue. That "1" time convinced me that if you are investing in an expensive trip (everyone has their own definition of expensive) then it's worth buying insurance.
Life happens. Best to have it and not use it than not have it and have regret. This trip I did not file a claim but felt good that I had it "just in case"

The good news, I never had to use the plan. I do have underlying health concerns so I pick a great plan. I was an insurance agent for 33 years and sold some of product during that period. Our agency had our retirement plan with JH and I was the active administrator.

My high review reflects the that was given to me by Insure My Trip and IMG regarding changes I made in my policy. The first request involved decreasing amount of coverage after realizing my nonrefundable business class air tickets should not have been included after I realized the airline would give me air credit if I cancelled. IMG decreased my coverage after I provided the appropriate documentation and refunded me. Then my total trip I cancelled due to Israel war and I was able to switch the plan to a new trip since it fell within the appropriate timeline. Again customer reps were helpful in getting this change.
