We chose this plan because we have elderly parents and were concerned that we may be called back home should they become ill. Good feeling to have a certain amount of insurance coverage. One question I have is that I don't know if we were covered in case of a strike I would be willing to pay a bit more for strike coverage.

We almost thought we might have to file a claim because our luggage was lost upon arrival in Paris; however, it was located and delivered to hotel next day.

Being on Medicare, my health coverage is no longer available outside the country. My credit card company provides a complete trip cancellation/ interruption plan for free when paying for the trip with their card. But medical insurance is not included. . InsureMyTrip beautifully filled the gap and provided peace of mind for a nominal price.

I always take travel insurance and never had to use them except for the last 2 trips. A tooth broke i called Travelex and they immediately found me a dentist close by and made the appointment. I was reimbursed within a week after submitting the claim.
On the second trip I had to be transported to emergency in Paris. I called the insurance soon as I could. I did not get a bill when discharged but I have a year to claim if they bill me.

The Travelex Travel Basic policy would be able to provide Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage due to "Common Carrier delays resulting from inclement weather, or mechanical breakdown or organized labor strikes that affect public transportation;"
Additionally, the Travel Delay benefit would cover "any Common Carrier delay" if you had a delay of 5 hours or more.
