Kudos to you if you are reading reviews.  Our family of four has exclusively used Travel Insured for our trips abroad for several years.  They are fabulous when you do not have a claim as you are reading in other 5 star ratings.  Therefore, all reviews where a claim was not made must absolutely be disregarded!
 
Not only was my medical claim supported by our licensed physical declined, it took EIGHT & A HALF MONTHS for the claim to even be processed.  The ONLY time our claims analyst handled our paperwork was when we made an inquiry and when she phoned to inform us our claim has been denied.  Our claim should have been processed before COVID was an issue. Our claim documents were completely submitted a full 8 weeks before WHO declared a global emergency and 15 weeks before COVID was declared a national emergency in the United States.  Despite these facts, our claims analyst blamed the slow process on COVID.  Additionally, it took over six weeks for Travel Insured to upload the third set of requested documents to their system and another eight weeks after that before finally rejecting our claim on grounds they could have indicated months ago.  This company has kept our family in unnecessary limbo.
 
Read the fine print. Our claim was denied base on one minor requirement that didn’t even make sense in the context of the claim. There are other companies that provide better coverage and superior customer service. Unless you pay extra for the “Cancel For Any Reason” policy, you are probably wasting your money. Even with CFAR, there is fine print and you are only insured for 75% of your policy. Keep researching and don’t forget some credit cards offer as much coverage as travel insurance!

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
Didn't have to use the coverage the best indication of a good trip. Since I didn't make a claim I have no way to render a proper judgement. I purchased paperwork that the travel agency accepted a proof of.coverage and choose not to purchase the tours coverage. I did witness a fellow traveler who had purchased the company insurance was quite pleased as the tour guide was familiar with it and took him to doctor who accepted it. I asked tour guide how mine would work was told same doctor but I would have to pay upfront and make claim when got home.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Gold
It is hard to say how satisfied I am with this plan because, thank heaven, I did not need to file a claim. But, it is comforting to know the insurance is there if I need it. I wouldn't travel out of the USA without it. I observed a man of similar age to me, who appeared to be traveling alone, and he collapsed just outside of the airport in Buenos Aires; it was terribly hot and I think this affected him. EMT's were called and I later wondered if he was able to fly home. I suspect not. All of this happened in an instant. If he did not have insurance, how would he pay for his treatment and return flight??? Very sobering to see.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
This is hard to evaluate since we did not need to file a claim. It did give us peace of mind though, that IF anything happened prior to the trip, we could re-schedule. The only possibility that it did not cover is if something happened to my husband or I and we could not go on the trip, I don't believe it gave the other couple that we were traveling with the option to cancel and get reimbursed so that we could travel together at a later date. Not traveling with them would have been a bummer!

Since I didn't file a claim, it's hard to speak to the customer service. However, I would say the process of acquiring the insurance was excellent. The plan seemed to be a good one for what we needed.

No claim filed. In researching with BBB, this plan seemed to have less complaints at a lower cost than some other plans. All plans seem over priced, never sure its really worth it as have never filed a claim. Be sure to closely read all the fine print on any plan before you buy.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
Our travel agency Cox and Kings went bankrupt prior to our trip and most of the money we paid for the trip was lost. Upon contacting C&F I was informed that although we had their "Deluxe" plan, if I would turn to page 52 of (roughly) 97 of their policy I would see that they don't cover bankruptcy of travel agencies. Well, isn't this a major reason we all buy travel insurance, to cover the problems which do occur? We had to pay for the trip twice...

On the other hand when we got delayed due to bad weather, their emergency travel services did help out with rescheduling flights. (We had no travel agency to turn to). Otherwise I would have rated them a one, as I was really angry about the weasel clauses in their contract. I suppose all contracts have exceptions, it is just that in the up front disclosure about what is covered, they should also have a list of what isn't covered so you can know what you are actually purchasing.

    C&F Travel Insured along with most travel insurance providers do not consider the bankruptcy of a travel agent as covered under Financial Default.

    As you stated in your review, all policies have exceptions which is why we make every effort to provide you with each plan's terms and conditions by attaching a copy of the certificate to each quote.

    InsureMyTrip is also often 7 days a week to assist our customers with quoting and purchasing a policy.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
Glad I didnt have to use the insurance. I went with my sister who lives in another state. It would have been more affordable to have both of us on the same plan. Please consider linking travel partners in the future.
