Nationwide Cruise plans are the only trip insurance we ever purchase. Have had excellent coverage, claims pd and customer service! Highly recommend & wouldn't cruise without it.

It is difficult to rate a plan without having to file a claim. I concluded that at 77 years, the probability of something happening to my wife or myself can only increase with each passing year. Having the insurance gave us added peace of mind prior to leaving. So that's about it.

My wife and I were about to depart on a long-planned (very expensive) vacation and cruise aboard the Regent Explorer. However, right before we were to leave for our flight to Italy, both of us became seriously ill and we were both hospitalized. Fortunately we had purchased our policy thru InsureMyTrip and I had selected Generali as our provider. The service from Generali could not have been better. The entire process was handled very efficiently via email. After submitting all of the forms and doctors' reports (extensive but understandable) our claim was paid immediately. Although we were very disappointed that we were unable to take our cruise, we could not be more satisfied with the service and claim processing we received from Generali. I highly recommend that anyone contemplating a trip consider Generali as their insurance provider. I should also note that Generali was extremely competitive in their pricing as well. Travel insurance of this nature is a requisite risk strategy for extended foreign travel. As a consumer I feel compelled to purchase it. So, to me pricing is the issue. The Providers have the Consumer in captivity. Rate could be lower! /

The majority of Comprehensive plans offer a waiver of the Pre-existing Condition Exclusion if you purchase the policy within 10 to 21 days of the Initial Trip Payment Date. However, the Generali Global Assistance Premium plan offers that waiver if you purchase their policy prior to or within 24 hours of your final trip payment:
"We will not pay for loss or expense caused by or incurred resulting from a Pre-Existing Condition, as defined in the Definitions section, including death that results therefrom. This Exclusion does not apply provided you meet the following requirements:
a. coverage is purchased prior to or within 24 hours of your final Trip Payment; and
b. you are medically able to travel at the time the coverage is purchased; and
c. you insure 100% of your prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions."
