I submitted a claim with all the information requested on the application which I downloaded from their website. A few weeks later I was notified that they weren't using that form anymore and I needed to fill out a second form and submit additional information, which I emailed the next day. I got confirmation that the email was received and called to make sure they did not need any more information. I was assured that the claim would be processed. A few days later I received a letter requesting the information again. When I called, I was assured that the claim had been approved and I would get a check. It took another week, making the total time from submission of request to payment about 4 weeks. I don't know if this is typical. The repeated requests for a different form and additional information, felt like the company was hoping I would not follow through and then they wouldn't have to pay the claim.

Trying to find the right plan can be a little complicated. We talked with some advisers, found what would work for us and the purchase was smooth and easy. We were pleased that we didn't need to file a claim, but it was a comfort to know it was there if we needed it.

This plan provided the protection I needed to make sure some unforeseen event caused us not being able to make this trip. Particularly when the trip is booked many months in advance. Sometimes the cost of these trips are substantial which even makes the protection even more important. Fortunately, we didn't need to use the insurance this time. There was one trip we insured that needed to be cancelled which was covered. It is well worth the cost.
