TravelSafe Classic
The TravelSafe Classic plan has all of the components we look for in a comprehensive plan. We are fortunate that we did not have to file a claim but we had peace of mind knowing it was in place. We don't leave home without travel insurance.

This is one of the few plans that is so inclusive of disaster and is attentive to the fact that people over 80 still travel and require insurance!

AXA Assistance USA Platinum
I got full coverage. Trip interrupted because China officials would not approve our visit, forcing us to divert trip with 2 extra days in hotel and change air plans with loss flights. We were told this is not covered. Such a problem is not specified as yes or no, and I feel this is a way it of paying for something I should have been reimbursed for.

    Comprehensive plans are designed to cover as many risks as possible, but is very rare for any insurance plan to cover all possible risks. The AXA Assistance USA Platinum plan is a Comprehensive plan which covers a wide range of perils and hazards for Travel Delay and Trip Interruption. Unfortunately, it was determined that the event that interrupted your trip did not fall within the scope of Trip Interruption for this specific plan.

Fortunately, I didn't need to file a claim, so I can't speak to the company's performance there. But I will say the policy was very easy to purchase, seemed reasonably priced, and gave me peace of mind when I left for the trip. I'd probably buy this service again for my next big trip.
