My trip turned out great and I remained safe and healthy and
I thankfully did not need to use this insurance plan.
That said, being in such a remote location, the policy provided me with peace of mind knowing I could deal with any potential serious medical issues quickly and affordably.

Many people disregard the need for travel insurance, but you never know if or when you will need it. In fact, I thought that I might need to use my coverage after suffering a burn in Botswana. I was happy to see that the out of country contact information was very clear on the paperwork, but even happier that I didn't need to use the plan!

This type of insurance seems very expensive for someone like me, who is in good health and is active physically. I now have a separate medical evacuation plan, so will be looking for a less expensive plan for delays and cancellations in the future.
