I had to appeal three times before $40 of my $120 claim for expenses incurred as a result of baggage delay was allowed. They didn't think the cost of transportation to get to a store to purchase needed clothing was reimbursable. People I spoke to on the phone had no authority to deal with the claim. The documents sent to me referred to me as "the patient" on what was obviously a medical insurance form. I think the claim was finally allowed only because I was stubborn and persistent.

We had to return home from overseas due to a family health issue. My husband and I were reimbursed for our added travel expenses and forfeited deposits. Be sure to save all receipts, however, as some expenses where in our haste we forgot to get receipts, were not reimbursed.

We had a magnificent trip quite filled with charm, adventure, thrills, education, However the only only thing that was missing was misfortune. Therefore I cannot comment on the cost effectiveness, satisfaction, reliability, or recommendation of this product I can state InsureMyTrip answered every question, quelled all my concerns in regards to our wonderful adventure.

I had a concern because the trip was supposed to end on 6/27/14. The trip operator made such a mess of the airline reservations that I didn't arrive home until 6/28/14, one day after my policy expired since I purchased it for the stated duration of the trip. Perhaps you could advise clients to add one day beyond the stated end of trip to their policy period so coverage would continue if they don't actually get home on the end of trip date.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. It is imperative to use the confirmed travel dates on the purchase application because it is a formal document. All coverages under the plan will be extended if your entire Covered Trip is covered by the plan and your return is delayed by unavoidable circumstances beyond your control.
If coverage is extended for the above reasons, coverage will end on the earlier of the date you reach your originally scheduled return destination or seven (7) days after the scheduled Return Date.Jul 01,2014

We did not have to file a claim, so I cannot comment on ho a claim might have been handled. We purchased this plan because it seemed to have appropriate coverage for us at a reasonable price, and, most importantly for us, it provided PRIMARY coverage for medical and other expenses. This would have enabled us to avoid lots of unnecessary work filing claims with Medicare, which offers no coverage in Europe. For us, this was worth the few extra dollars this policy cost over others where medical coverage was secondary.
