Travel insurance through April was affordable. Didn't have to claim (the best kind of insurance) so no idea how this compares with more expensive insurers who can be a real pain to work with, and who DONT pay enough to replace what you loose if a suitcase never arrives.

Even though we didn't have to use the coverage, it was a comfort to know it was there, We saw other people injured or having to leave our ship and knew that if something happened to one of us, we had it covered. We are planning another trip and will definitely consider John Hancock again for coverage.

Choice Family Plan
April Travel Protection Choice Family Plan delivers everything it says. I was blown away at how my claim was paid in full with no extra correspondence. (I've had other experiences where companies keep asking for more and more documentation until you can't come up with something) To be honest, I was skeptical, I figured there was some fine print some where that I had missed that was going to void or greatly reduce my claim. Absolutely not the case. My vacation expenses were fully refunded without stress or delay. What more can you ask for??!! I will definitely use April in the future.

I had to cancel this cruise due to medical reasons with my wife and they were easy to work with and reimbursed us our claimed amount without any problem. Cancellation costs were over $8,000 dollars and they gladly paid us promptly/ I'm so glad we had the AXA insurance.

I was not able to receive a Visa for Brazil in time for my cruise. Therefore, I had to fly to Buenos Aires which caused me to miss several days on the cruise. I had to pay for a new airfare and pay $744.00 for an air cancellation fee. (**first flight) After calling about my trip insurance coverage none of it was covered. Wow, very disappointing!

As you discovered, there is no coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption or Travel Delay if you do not receive your Visa in time for your trip which is why there was no reimbursement for your increased costs. In the future, you can read through the covered reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip in any plan on our website by first comparing your quotes then clicking on the dollar amount of Trip Cancellation coverage. You with then receive a pop-up window with a list of all the covered reasons.
