My wife's luggage was delayed 5 days on our outbound trip. It was a horrible situation, made worse by Delta Airlines incompetence. The agent we spoke with at Berkshire Hathaway was terrific! She repeated called the airlines and was instrumental in pushing them to finally locate the luggage after their mishandling EVERYTHING! I don't see any reason trip insurance has to be as expensive as it is. I only bought it because the country to which I traveled has it as a requirement. That said, your website made it easy to shop and compare. But all the prices are way too high!

CANCELLED THE TRIP AND FILED A CLAIM, WHICH THEY SAID WOULD TAKE 45 DAYS TOOK ABOUT 35 BUT THEY DIDN'T QUESTION MY SUBMITTLE AND I WAS PAID IN FULL. BASED ON MY EXPREIENCE I WOULD USE YOUR SERVICE AGAIN! NOT THAT I'D WISH TO CANCEL ANOTHER TRIP BECAUSE MY WIFE WAS TOO SICK TO TRAVEL. THANKS

I had to cancel because I suffered a stroke. All that was at risk was the deposit which was about the same as the insurance costs. The claim has still not been paid and the service is utterly atrocious. I am convinced that if not for insuremytrip’s Gail’s intervention there is no chance of getting a claim paid short of litigation. I do not understand, though why insuremytrip sells this company’s policies. They are risking getting sued.

It is really impossible to evaluate a plan if a claim is never made. So any ratings only reflect my belief that it would cover my needs not that it did. I could not recommend it w/o actual knowledge.

Your Comprehensive plan premium was based on the age of the traveler, trip cost and the length of the trip. Your premium was 6.61% of your total trip cost which would match the industry standard.
That being said, you did an excellent job in selecting a policy since the AXA Gold plan included 100,000 USD in primary medical coverage. Despite the premium, you would have been very thankful for the coverage if you were unfortunately ill or injured.
