I did have a small medical issue while in South America. I paid for the care I received and then filed a claim once I was back home. I sent all the required information to the insurance company. I had to call to follow up as they did not acknowledge that they had received my information. I am to receive my check later this week for the cost of the medical care I received. My only comment would be that it would be nice to receive an email saying they received my claim and that it was being processed.

For the amount we paid, I thought that the 6 month pre-existing exclusion was a lot to pay. I have gotten pre-existing included for less money from other companies.

My wife became very ill when we arrived in Lima, Peru.The hotel Doctor sent her to the hospital emergency room for tests and treatment. InsureandGo reimbursed us for all our expenses.

AXA Assistance USA Gold
It's hard to do a survey when luckily nothing required me to use the coverage, but it gave me security knowing I had it. If I had to use the coverage and had problems, then I'd have a reason to do a survey. I will use the AXA Assistance USA Gold plan again though. The star ratings are for what the policy offered/covered, as for satisfaction, even though it wasn't tested!

This insurance was reasonably priced. I did have a claim and though it was resolved and I was compensated, it took about 3 months to process. The agent who handled my claim was respectful and apologized for the slow processing time stating they had many claims to process during summer months when my incident also occurred.
