All went well on our trip so that was great. We have had a couple of trips where we have had to make a claim. American Express was the best in terms of cutting through red tape and being more than fair with pay outs. Plus they did so in just a few weeks rather than months. Too many things can go wrong when traveling, insuring the trip brings piece of mind:-)

Daryl, were so genuinely concerned about my needs and requests before the trip so that it was enough assurance that I would be thoroughly protected for that period. While no one wants to collect on travel insurance, it really is a must for travel abroad and can save you a lot of money should you have an accident or illness. Our claim was processed and we received full reimbursement for our medical treatment and prescription medicine. There is a lot of paperwork that must be submitted with a claim, so keep that in mind and be sure to keep all of your records---ticket purchases, reservations, and airline boarding passes, to submit with a medical claim. When getting treatment make sure the doctor makes note of the diagnosis and lists his address/contact information. Reimbursement took about 6 weeks after claim was submitted. We would recommend Global Alert and will not hesitate to use them again when we travel.

Just returned from a Baltic cruise and 3 weeks in Europe. Having the insurance for a costly trip like this gave a peace of mind. We did not need the insurance thankfully. The process of obtaining it was simple also.
