Like all insurance, it is a question of determining how much coverage is "enough" or that one feels comfortable with. As I shopped on a couple of other sites, I did not always find it easy to compare policies. I specifically wanted to make sure there was coverage in the event of unplanned delays such as a bomb threat at an airport. I also wanted insurers that had some kind of proven financial securities. I found that the companies represented were solid financial insurers. It was easy to compare coverage between companies and policies. It was easy to specify the coverages. While it proved unnecessary for us to file a claim, I would recommend Insuremytrip and intend to use them again in the future as the need arises.

Although I didn't need to use the insurance coverage, I had peace of mind, which was worth its weight in gold (or should I say "silver", because that's the plan we purchased. :)
While we were in France, there was a terrorist attack at the Champs Elysses, in Paris. We had just left Paris 3 days prior. We had been 200 feet from where the attack took place, where a police officer was slain. Needless to say, it was very upsetting. My heart sank, as my husband and I discussed leaving, which would have been very sad, as we had plans to see our nieces perform in a music festival in Aix en Provence. Terrorism can strike anywhere, and we decided to not go home. But, if we had, we felt that getting insurance, which would have reimbursed us for the cancelled interrupted trip, if we had decided to leave, was very much appreciated. We compared lots of plans and this one was reasonable and coverage was good. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this plan again.

I already have. If you can afford to take a trip "across the pond", you can afford to insure for things that might "go bad". We chose the evacuation insurance, because it is really expensive to have to fly back suddenly due to unforeseen circumstances. Happily we did not need to make a claim, but we knew we would be protected if we did.

C&F Travel Insured International

I have used C&F several times before and really like them. I did not have to file a claim this time around, BUT did file for another trip (which I did not review). I wanted to review them because they have been working with me on that claim from a previous trip and they have been great. It was my fault btw that we're still dealing with it, since I submitted very late. The claim is not finalized yet and that's the reason for the 4, but so far I'm pleased with the progress. I find Customer Service really responsive and they usually have the coverage I want for that specific trip at a reasonable cost.

I love InsureMyTrip as it permits comparison of all components of travel insurance plans in one place. CSA often offers higher levels of coverage for similar or lower price than other companies, so I often choose CSA for my travel insurance. Although I did not need to file a claim for this most recent trip (thank goodness!), I have had to file a claim with CSA in the past, about 2.5 years ago. The claim process was seamless and my claim (trip cancellation) was covered without any hassles. Consequently, I do not hesitate to use CSA for my travel insurance needs.

Being on Medicare, my health coverage is no longer available outside the country. My credit card company provides a complete trip cancellation/ interruption plan for free when paying for the trip with their card. But medical insurance is not included. . InsureMyTrip beautifully filled the gap and provided peace of mind for a nominal price.
