It was important to know that we had coverage since our primary medical plan does not provide much or any coverage outside the United States. In the past, our regular medical insurance covered us worldwide up to full policy limits, including pre-existing conditions and we did not need added travel medical coverage.

We did not need the insurance or use it so we do not know how it would have been if we had needed to make a claim. It was too expensive since the odds are we would not need it and in fact did not need it.

This plan was considerably less expensive than the one offered by the tour company and, as it turns out, it covered what needed to be covered. I did file a claim because of a cancelled flight. The information needed for the claim was easily accessible and the claim was settled for the full amount in 4 weeks.
