This was my first experience with travel insurance. I was unaware of the restrictions accompanying typical polices. I did not know, for example, that I had to obtain the insurance within 15 days of my initial payment for my trip in order to be eligible for pre-existing conditions coverage. This meant that for my August trip, I would have had to buy the insurance in January to have pre-existing conditions covered! I believe that I knew intuitively that the closer one gets to the trip date the more expensive would be the coverage so I was not surprised by that but only the amount that the difference would be.

Very slow. Supplied requested info and waited then asked for additional info. Sent requested confirmation they received it no response add 30 days waiting then another 3 weeks before payment. Very poor communication.

Comprehensive travel insurance policy premiums are based upon the following factors: duration of the trip, ages of the travelers, number of travelers, and the prepaid and nonrefundable trip cost. Typically, a policy is deemed to be of good value when the premium falls between 4-10% of the prepaid and nonrefundable trip cost. My friend had to see a doctor while on-board ship. When she contacted CSA in this regard, they walked her through what was needed for reimbursement. After complying with needed documents, she received a check in the mail the following week after they received her claim. We are most satisfied with the professionalism and speed of payment.
