Upset about policy coverage and cost. My flight was delayed twice on the outbound trip, causing me to discomfort with waiting at the airport in excess of 3 hours, missing a night stay at hotel that was paid in advance and could not be refunded, and rental car co. closed prior to arrival. Finally secured rental car but it cost more. It doesn't look like policy coverage is applicable to make a claim, so now I've paid money to insure my trip and with incident occurred I do not have coverage.

As I didn't have to file a claim, it's hard to rate the completeness of coverage and my satisfaction with the plan. It *seemed* comprehensive, but I wonder if I missed some "loopholes".

I had a very good experience with this company. I purchased this plan for a Disney trip for my family. We were in Florida when the most recent hurricane happened. Our flight was canceled and we had to find another hotel on short notice. At first I was concerned because when I called Generali I got a recording for emergency needs only. It was not an emergency and I just had a few questions. So the next morning I called Insure My Trip and spoke with a person immediately. He answered my questions and sent me a link to file a claim with this company. I saved all my receipts. When I got home I followed the instructions and sent the requested documents. Within 30 days my claim was settled and I received a check the next week. Definitely recommend!

Was extremely disappointed that we did not get a partial refund for the 3 out of 5 says we were supposed to stay. Hurricane ian was approaching & even if there wasn’t a mandatory evacuation at the time, we didn’t want to wait as we were on an island & know how bad the bridges can get. Being on a island during a hurricane is NOT a good idea..I was hoping to get SOMETHING back. Obviously I wasn’t looking for the whole thing. Would appreciate you looking at this again. It truly was not fair!

I had to make a claim for a trip delay due to Covid. The company finally paid the claim, but it took about 6 months. Part of the delay was because they sent me the incorrect forms to fill out. The rest of the delay was unexplained. Also, the call center has extremely long hold times (upwards of one to two hours).

You buy travel insurance to feel secure in case something goes wrong with your plans. In our case nothing went wrong but we felt secure knowing we had coverage.

It's difficult to rate a plan when there was no claim. I had to cancel our trip due to illness of my son-in-law needing emergency brain surgery. The timing fell into the resorts cancellation policy. Therefore I didn't need to use the insurance.
