I don't like that it's more expensive as it gets closer to travel deadline I had so many things to decide and plan and think about expense wise, that by the time I decided it was a higher price. I didn't use it as I figured I most likely wouldn't so it ended up being another expense for me my son had recommended I didn't buy it, so guess it would be better to keep your prices down all the way to departure

Thank you for your feedback. Premiums for comprehensive policies are based largely on the length of the trip, the ages of the travelers, and the cost of the trip. Generali plans also use a variable rate structure that may fluctuate up or down as you near your departure date. However, a travel insurance policy is considered to be of good value when the policy premium is 4-10% of the insured trip cost.
I bought this policy for my son who was traveling to New Zealand. Thank goodness he never needed to file a claim, but it gave his mom much needed peace of mind. The plan we had covered quite a bit for the extremely low cost. We would use Berkshire Hathaway ExactCare again!

I had a baggage delay on my overseas trip where I needed to purchase items because of it. I tried going through the claim process and found it so convoluted and complicated that I gave up doing it. It was asking for trip/flight information that wasn't easily available. I would of had to do some digging back in the states to find it. It was just a simple reimbursement of expenses I had to pay because of delayed baggage so it seems it shouldn't of been so frustrating to fill out the claim.

My husband & I started buying insurance about 6 years ago. It seamed expensive each time I purchased it, but as our parents were aging I thought it was something we should do. We recently planned our longest and farthest trip for over a year to go to New Zealand and Australia. We were very excited, both of us healthy, when out of no where the night before, my husband got sick, and we went from 2 emergency room visits that night to being admitted to the hospital for 4 more days and he was not advised to travel for a few months after that due to follow up doc visits. On my initial call I was in quite a panic, but they were calm & understood and helped me deal with it all. All turned out good for my husband, and we rebooked the only other cruise/airfare available for a similar trip this fall. And we are buying the same policy we had last time with Generali. Why? Because due to their excellent response & assistance & clarification of what info they needed, etc. in order for us to get our money returned as soon as possible they deserve our loyalty. They were always available when I needed to ask a quesiton. I advise keeping detailed records, (I am fortunate that my husband did that) Also, know that that it will take time for all the paperwork (about 60 days) but the delays are not because of the insurance company, usually due to waiting on hospital records, etc. (they also warned me in advance about the time frame to collect all the data). My claim handler Chanel was fantastic.

I was satisfied with the coverage I purchased. I did not have to use the benefits while traveling but it made me feel secure to know I was covered if a problem did occur.
