My husband had serious injury 3 weeks before our trip. We submitted the required paperwork and a check for a full refund arrived 4 weeks later. The process was very smooth.

Although we didn't file a claim, we made a couple changes prior to leaving on our 20 day trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. The changes were handled easily, promptly, and documented shortly after. We would use Generali again when the need for TI arises.

I would prefer the coverage items to be a little more ala carte so you could pick and choose exactly the coverage you need/want and hopefully be able to reduce the cost.

I had two flight issues on this trip and plan to process some claims. I just returned late Sunday and am still catching up, as I am hosting a workshop in my home this weekend.
I called your office on the 20th and was told my plan didn't cover getting me home. What? I bought a plan for the whole trip. I was also told, I had to process any claims myself first and you were a secondary choice. You basically are NO help. I will never buy from you again.
I did read the policy before I left and again after my first flight issue. The "small print" policy would take a really experienced travel who has learned by error or an attorney to see what is missing.
An expensive ripe off.
I will be contacting a supervisor next week or after I have submitted claims to Avianca.

It's difficult to rate a plan that I did not need to use. There was 1 disappointment however. I had an injury on the trip and because of circumstances, I did not receive medical attention. The tour wrote a report and I will be seeing a doctor now that I am home. However, even though it happened on the trip, I find that I am not covered.

Although we are glad to hear that your injury was not serious enough to interfere with your trip, it is true that travel medical coverage only reimburses you for medical expenses that are incurred while on your trip.
Here is the clause as stated in your iTravelinsured SE plan:
"Benefits will be paid for the Covered Expense incurred, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, as a result of a Covered Accidental Injury or covered Sickness, which first occurs during Your Trip (of a duration of ninety (90) days or less for Sickness). Only Covered Expenses incurred during Your Trip (of duration of ninety (90) days or less for Sickness) will be reimbursed. Expenses incurred after Your Trip are not covered."
My wife's luggage was delayed 5 days on our outbound trip. It was a horrible situation, made worse by Delta Airlines incompetence. The agent we spoke with at Berkshire Hathaway was terrific! She repeated called the airlines and was instrumental in pushing them to finally locate the luggage after their mishandling EVERYTHING! Thank you BK for having caring and capable people.Our representative should receive a special commendation.
