Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Luckily we didn't have to use the plan and have never had to for any vacation we have taken and covered in the past. This is leading us to the conclusion that maybe we should NOT spend/waste this money in the future. If the plans were lower in cost, I would prefer to have coverage on every trip.

I didn't need to use the plan since fortunately, all went well during our travels. It was reassuring to know we had the plan just in case. It is a shame that if you are older you have to pay considerably more for a plan. I'd love to be able to pay less for a basic plan instead of $1000.

We were very relieved that we had this policy to cover our trip to Europe in April, 2019. Last July, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. For several months we were not sure if we could make the trip. It was very reassuring that we could cancel the trip and that our expenses would be covered.
I'm pleased to tell you that my husband was through with his chemotherapy treatments and was strong enough to handle our plans for travel.

My husband developed a severe back injury 1 month before our departure date, and as he was not able to travel, we had to cancel our cruise. I submitted the required paperwork and was compensated for all my lost revenue and non-refundable deposits. Was very happy with the plan and the way the company handled the claim. Customer reps were helpful.

We paid over $1000 for a premium policy, then when my wife fractured her foot and we needed to incur cancellation expenses for some of our aggressive trip activities, we discovered you don't cover that situation. I haven't used trip insurance in the past and this taught me that it's still not worth it. I'll save a couple thousand a year in trip insurance costs, take my chances, and save money over the long run.

We did follow up with Generali who advised that you did not file a
claim but called to inquire about reimbursement for two nights of hotel
accommodations and taxi expenses to get you from one place to another while your three companions were hiking. However, these would not be covered expenses under your Travel Delay coverage since the cause of the additional expenses were for an injury sustained prior to coverage which began on your date of departure.
Generali did suggest that you may still wish to submit a claim for reimburse-ment of any prepaid non-refundable travel expenses. Please call the Generali claims department at (800) 541-3522 for additional information.
The staff at Travel Guard were pleasant to talk to. There was no long holding times on the phone. They processed my claim pretty quickly. I was very pleased with the service.
