Purchased an AXA Assistance USA Platinum Plan for a trip to Africa. I was unable to go due to an illness. Long story short, the plan paid the the amount of the claim. I received a check for $11,600. The service was good, and no hassles. I will purchase another AXA policy for our future travels. Highly recommend.

AXA did not respond in to the claim within the time they promised(30 days)after the receipt of our claim. After 30 days we called and were promised a response by the end of the day. 3 days later there was still no response. Called again and promised a call back within an hour. Over 2 hours passed and still no call back. Called them again and was promised a response within 48 hours. 3 days later we received a request for more information, some of which we had provided when we filed our claim. We received a check today, 77 days after we filed our claim. Poor customer service, but at least they paid eventually.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

Insurance provided what I judged to be costly but necessary coverage. Price of it clearly indicates that I need to consider whether I really need it for future travel.

Each Company will base the premiums of their plans by 3 main factors; (1) the ages of the travelers, (2) the length of your trip from home to home and (3) the total cost of your pre-paid trip cost. As the traveler's ages change, trip costs increase or the length of the trip is extended, the prices will also change accordingly. Your policy also included the Cancel For Any Reason benefit, which will increase your premium.

We are low risk and I think you should ask more question so that people who are frail, inexperienced travelers or doing high risk activities would pay more than experienced, healthy and normal travelers.

I purchased a cancel for any reason policy since this was an expensive trip to Churchill in Northern Manitoba, Canada to see the polar bears. Even though it was extremely cold and icy there, I returned safely and did not require filing a claim with AXA Assistance. I would use them again on future trips.

Travel insurance is too expensive for older travelers over 70. I am curious about the number of claims that are filed vs the number of policies purchased. I realize that you are a profit making company but from my perspective the older traveler is bearing too much of the burden vs the payout for this population. Could you provide me with statistics justifying your age related rate schedule vs spreading the cost over the age span of clients.

Travel insurance is regulated by the states. Companies must file rates prior to implementation with the state's insurance commissioner who reviews and approves or disapproves the rates, terms and conditions. For this reason, rates and policy terms may vary considerably from state to state as well as company to company.
When you purchased the AXA Assistance USA Gold plan, you actually purchased one of the most economically priced plans. Although your policy premium was 441 USD, we had many other plans offering quotes as high as 700 USD. Nevertheless, there were also more economical plans available to you. In the future, you may wish to call Customer Care at (800) 487-4722 for assistance in quoting future trips
