    Comprehensive policies cannot be extended or purchased after departure date. However, Travel Medical plans can be. If you end up in a situation like this, you always have the ability to purchase some protection.

I have purchased several plans from CSA through InsureMyTrips. I've been pleased with the coverage and feel comfortable that if anything were to happen, that I would have the coverage I need. Thankfully, I haven't had to file a claim. But I appreciate the peace of mind that comes from having these policies for my travel. I appreciate the fact that InsureMyTrips makes it so easy to purchase a plan. I find that when I compare plans, CSA has comprehensive coverage for a reasonable price. I feel CSA provides plans that are good value.

Being stranded in Paris when my airline ticket was rejected, CSA was the only help I could get. The customer service rep (Lisa) calmed my anxiety, put me in contact with the proper person I needed to issue a new ticket, the following day, set me up with a claim form for a hotel and meal, then called my wife to reassure her. I am very grateful.

Like all insurance, it is a question of determining how much coverage is "enough" or that one feels comfortable with. As I shopped on a couple of other sites, I did not always find it easy to compare policies. I specifically wanted to make sure there was coverage in the event of unplanned delays such as a bomb threat at an airport. I also wanted insurers that had some kind of proven financial securities. I found that the companies represented were solid financial insurers. It was easy to compare coverage between companies and policies. It was easy to specify the coverages. While it proved unnecessary for us to file a claim, I would recommend Insuremytrip and intend to use them again in the future as the need arises.

If you are considering this company, make sure you fully understand their definition of 'pre-existing conditions'. This company has a 180 look-back history. I didn't know what that meant until I had to file a claim and was denied. Here's what look-back means: any condition evaluated or treated 180 days PRIOR to purchase. "Underlying conditions" is also part of this definition. I lost a lot of $$$ not fully understanding the definitions. Next time I have to buy travel insurance, I will DEFINITELY go to great lengths to understand every aspect of the policy.

We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. As you’ve said in your review, the plan you purchased is unable to provide coverage for any losses resulting from Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. Our Custom Luxe plan can provide coverage for such losses provided the plan is purchased prior to or within 24 hours of final trip payment, if other requirements outlined in the Description of Coverage/Policy are met. Did not have to use the insurance (thank goodness) so don't know how effective it would have been. I would use your insurance again for another trip because it seemed reasonable and comprehensive. I don't think your star rating system is quite an accurate way to rate in my circumstances.
