Travel Insurance Reviews GeoBlue Voyager Choice

The Voyager Choice is a single-trip Medical plan which offers emergency medical coverage while you are traveling abroad. This plan does require you to have primary health insurance in place, but there is no exclusion for pre-existing conditions. With this plan, you have the ability to select the medical limit and also the deductible amount that you are most comfortable with.

    Apparently you did not need to file a claim. If you had needed coverage, your GeoBlue Voyager Choice plan would have provided a medical limit of 50,000 USD per person. Although you selected the lowest limit, you also had the following options available to you for an additional premium as shown in parenthesis:

    100,000 USD (+ 2.64) (secondary)
    500,000 USD (+7.26) (secondary)
    1,000,000 USD (+7.92) (secondary)

    Your Medical coverage was Secondary which will pay only after any other Primary collectible insurance has paid the claim and the Primary policies' limits have been exhausted.

    Your GeoBlue Voyager plan also states that "Pre-existing conditions are covered under this plan as any other condition, subject to the terms and exclusions listed in the policy."

I purchased a week long policy, contract only showed coverage for 1 day. Called to extend and was advised it was updated. Checked the website - still coverage for just 1 day. Called back to extend AGAIN and was told it was extended, but guess what - it wasn't. Demanded a refund then told there was an issue with my credit card. (there was not) Called back to advise and was then told I had to submit my request to cancel in writing. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! Still no credit or extension.

Although, we did not have to use the plan during this trip it did provide peace of mind knowing it was available.On a prior trip, we did file a minor medical claim with GeoBlue under that plan and it was settled to our satisfaction. We will use GeoBlue in the future.

I had a medical concern while in Colombia and needed to see a doctor. GeoBlue did provide a guarantee of payment, which was helpful, although I did not end up needing it because the costs were lower than my deductible. However, I was disappointed in the lack of knowledge on the part of the representatives about the medical partners in my area; I was led to believe that I would be visiting an English-speaking urgent care clinic, while in fact I found myself at a Spanish-speaking emergency room. The representatives had no idea if their partners were hospitals, clinics, etc, or how to get in touch with them to schedule an appointment. This was very frustrating.
