HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Preferred
We experienced a dental problem, but were unaware that an accident/police report needed to be made and only treatment that took place there would be covered. Previous plans I've had allowed us to complete treatment at home if not an emergency situation.

Luggage was also destroyed and a claim must first be filed with airline. HTH insurance took 48 hours to respond to tell us that so we missed the 24 hour window to do so with the airline, so we couldn't file for the damaged luggage.

Will never purchase this insurance again.

    "Thank you for your review!

    Our claims department confirmed that in your email concerning the dental injury, you advised that dental treatment was not received while on the trip and that you were planning to seek treatment at home. Unfortunately, any treatment received needs to occur during the trip. Since you did not seek any dental treatment while on the trip, the plan will not consider reimbursement.

    Regarding the damaged baggage, we need additional information. We will reach out to you for this so we can consider the damaged baggage claim.Thank you!"

All of my extra costs (airfare changes, etc) happened before the trip started so the insurance ended up being "useless" to me. I was glad to have coverage if it were needed.

Despite the changes and additional expenses that arose prior to your departure, congratulations on having a claims free trip that you were able to enjoy without injury or sickness. However, HTH Worldwide Trip Protector would have provided you with 24 hour emergency assistance and claims service if needed.

Communication with the company over the email connections did not work. Tryed at least 7 to 9 times to reset password. Never did get it to work. Called the company directly, and they requested information that was not needed, and had to resend duplicate paperwork. In the end, I mailed well over 25 documents, some more than once. Finally on about the 3rd call, I walked step by step our claim. At that point, lady made more notes, but it took an additional couple of weeks to get paid. Should not have been that hard, during this difficult process, I would have liked HTH to call me, instead of their web mail, which I could not get to work. In the end, I got about 90% of what I claimed, so I guess that is ok.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

    Hello and thank you for your feedback. Your original claim was received via postal mail in March and we requested additional documentation after it was reviewed. We received your additional documents and the claim was reprocessed in the beginning of April. Our claims turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from when the documents are received. If you have government provided medical coverage in your home city only, you NEED medical insurance when traveling outside your home coverage zone. but there is a 50 mile no mans land of non-coverage by travel insurance usually, so beware.

    Thank you for your review especially since it's the type of information that can assist our customers, but first we would like to clarify your statements. Although it is true that Travel Medical coverage will not cover you in your home city, companies have various ways of limiting Medical coverage.

    Your HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Preferred plan states under the Accident Medical Expense coverage that "the Company will reimburse benefits up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage subject to any Deductible shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if You incur Covered Medical Expenses for Treatment of an Accidental Injury that occurs during the Trip". In other words, your Medical coverage begins once you depart on your trip from your scheduled location. There is no mention of a 50, 100 or even 150 mile radius. Please keep in mind that the distance and number of miles can vary from plan to plan.

    To avoid confusion when purchasing a plan, as you have suggested, potential customers can call InsureMyTrip customer service at (800) 487-4722 to request a quote and guidelines for the definition of covered trip along with the radius of coverage, if applicable.
