Though I did not need this plan, it was a great relief to know we had one! My friend's mother was ill and we did not know if we would have to fly home last minute. Thankfully, we did not BUT, It was also a blessing because we booked a cruise with Carnival through the Fiji Islands on a travel site. Once we checked in for the cruise, we found out we needed travel insurance to board the boat. If we did not have it, we would not have been able to go! THANK GOODNESS!

I’ve used other groups before, but luckily as with this policy I did not have to file for anything. I bought this plan as it appeared very comprehensive when compared to other plans as well as well priced. Additionally, Clark Howard recommended this company. He generally does his homework and is a reliable source.

Seemed like a good plan but since I didn t need to file a claim I really can t say how well the process worked or how well n easy it is to collect on a claim, thankfully forme.

Did not have to use, but nice knowing I didn't have to worry. I wasn't happy that I had booked a tour for Sydney back in August but I forgot to add it to my insurance and it was going to cost me $200. to add just before I left. Thankfully I didnt have to cancel and it was only $190.00 tour. Might think twice about that next time I have to have Travel Insurance. And I had proof that I had book when I purchased my insurance. When you have a booking way in advance it is hard to think of everything. I think you should be more lenient in that respect.

However, in that event, you may add additional trip expenses after you purchase a policy. We suggest that you call us within 10-21 days (policy specific) of adding the additional expenses so we can re-quote your policy and add the trip cost onto your existing policy.Jan 28,2020

We learned a lesson 7 years ago in Australia-always get primary medical if you are on Medicare. InsureMyTrip has always been soooo help in recommending the policy with the coverage we need.

This policy has the following coverage for Missed Connection:
"If You miss Your cruise or tour departure because Your arrival at Your Trip destination is delayed for six (6) or more hours, due to:
(a) any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier);
(b) documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure;
(c) quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot.
We will reimburse You, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, for:
(a) Your Additional Transportation Cost to join Your Trip; and
(b) Your Prepaid expenses for the unused land or water Travel Arrangements; and
(c) reasonable accommodation and meal expenses up to one hundred twenty-five dollars (125USD) per day necessarily incurred by You for which You have proof of purchase and which were not paid for or provided by any other source.
Your delayed arrival must be due to:
(a) any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier);
(b) documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure;
(c) quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot.
These benefits will not duplicate any other benefits payable under the Policy or any coverage(s) attached to the Policy."
This policy has the following coverage for Travel Delay:
"Benefits will be paid up to one hundred twenty-five dollars (125USD) per day for: reasonable accommodation, meal, telephone call and local transportation expenses incurred by You, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, if You are delayed for twelve (12) hours or more while enroute to or from, or during Your Trip, due to:
(a) any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier);
(b) a traffic accident in which You or Your Traveling Companion is not directly involved (must be substantiated by a police report);
(c) lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money (must be substantiated by a police report);
(d) quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot;
(e) a documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure."
We strongly recommend customers read the terms and conditions of the policy within the review period to determine if the policy fits your needs. Although the coverage may be provided by this plan, the iTravelInsured SE plan only provides Financial Default under Trip Cancellation if you purchased this plan within 20 days of your initial trip payment:
"Trip Cancellation -
Benefits will be paid up to the Maximum Benefit Amount purchased to cover an Insured for the non-refundable Published Penalties and prepaid expenses for Travel Arrangements when an Insured is prevented from taking his or her Covered Trip due to:

Bankruptcy or Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator, or Travel Supplier (other than the tour operator or travel agency from whom the Insured purchased their Travel Arrangements) which stops service more than 14 days following the Insured’s Effective Date. Benefits will be paid due to Bankruptcy or Default of an airline only if no alternate transportation is available. If alternate transportation is available, benefits will be limited to the change fee charged to allow the Insured to transfer to another airline in order to get to the Insured’s intended destination. This benefit only applies if the policy has been purchased within 20 days of the Insured’s initial payment for the Covered Trip and for the full cost of the Covered Trip..."
Since you made your initial trip payment on 09/02/2017 but did not buy this policy until 03/14/2018, you had no coverage for Financial Default under this policy.Jan 23,2019
