Took two and a half to process my claim which was caused by the death of a family member. I had difficulty communicating with the company that processed my claim. I will not use this company again.

My plane was delayed by weather and I missed a part of my tour in Nashville. I was disappointed that the insurance did not cover the tour that I missed that was not my fault.

This plan worked out great for us. Due to an illness in our family we were unable to take our trip. We had to provide bank or credit card statements for all expenses and once we did the claim was processed in a matter of days. The checks were mailed out promptly but the USPS took almost 2 weeks to deliver. We would have lost over $17000 without this insurance. Customer service (Flo) was very helpful answering questions we had.

I had to cancel a trip due to an injury 2 weeks before I was due to leave. It was a group trip with hotel, daily transport to ski areas, airfare and other items. I showed documentation for airfare not being refundable and all my payments. Within 3 weeks I had my check. The representative called me with one question. She was polite and understood my claim once we spoke. I am more than satisfied.

We needed to change the dates of our trip at the last minute when we got sick a day or so before we were scheduled to leave. Our host accommodated the change at no charge (so no need to make a claim), and Nationwide shifted the coverage to the new date with no additional cost. We appreciate the flexibility.

My husband got a bad cold on our bicycling trip and couldn't continue, because you have to cycle point to point, and he couldn't breathe. We had to leave the trip early and return home. Upon reading our policy after returning home, he would have had to visit a doctor in order to receive compensation from this insurance policy.
