We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
When I went online the first time I made a mistake and thought I was buying for $4200 each for coverage. I never say the confirmation email until I get an follow up reminder about the upcoming trip. In looking at my account on line, it showed $4200 total for the cost - but when I got the email reminder it showed $3000 total.
Even though I messed up (and later bought additional coverage), I'm not happy that my original purchase and online account showed $4200 yet the email confirmations showed less.
I feel like I paid more additional cost then what my original purchase should have been for $4200. I called customer service and they said they could review it -- but i have not heard anything. I have the screenshot of the original email login showing the $4200 for the cost.
Not happy this time around.

Our flight home was delayed a day due to freezing fog so our plane was unable to land and was diverted back to PDX. Nationwide Insurance was very easy to deal with to be reimbursed for our night in a motel. The person I spoke with was very helpful and courteous and our claim was paid promptly. Thank you.

Cannot say how good the plan was since I did not need to file a claim. Having the peace of mind knowing we were covered in case of a medical emergency while on our cruise was worth it. There were 3 people that need to be taken off our ship for medical help. Knowing that we had the insurance while out of the country especially if we need to be evacuated by helicopter gave us great peace of mind.

Even with adding on coverage and premium the plan (like many others) is too expensive. For example, you have to pay for coverage of the entire cruise fare when you pay it even though much of it is refundable if you need to cancel 3 months out. For the small amount that was covered until the last couple of months the premium is excessive.

Each Company will base the premiums of their plans by 3 main factors; (1) the ages of the travelers, (2) the length of your trip from home to home and (3) the total cost of your pre-paid trip cost. On top of this premium, when adding additional coverage, such as Cancel For Any Reason, the premiums will increase. Since the insurance is providing coverage for a larger risk, the premium you pay will also go up accordingly.

We had to file a claim for this same trip last year. My husband had a severe infection and was told not to travel. Nationwide was so easy to work with in covering our prepaid costs, so we didn't hesitate to use them when we re-booked our trip this year. Thankfully, we had no difficulties this time around.
