We had to return home from overseas due to a family health issue. My husband and I were reimbursed for our added travel expenses and forfeited deposits. Be sure to save all receipts, however, as some expenses where in our haste we forgot to get receipts, were not reimbursed.

It is difficult to write a review unless you have had to actually file a claim. At that point you can really judge the plan..until that point it is just a reassurance..hopefully a credible one. Judging price is difficult also.

It was great having this plan and thankfully we did not need it.

If one of us had been ill, we probably would have been well covered; however, that was not our case. Our problem involved the conflict in Gaza and Israel making our flight not a reasonable thing to do. We spoke with a Seven Corners representative, who did send us a claim form, but told us it wouldn't be covered.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. In order to get coverage for the conflict in Israel, travelers would need to purchase an optional benefit called Cancel For Any Reason. Cancel for Any Reason has a few eligibility criteria:
    1) It is only available within 10-30 days of your initial trip payment (depending on the policy).
    2) You must insure 100% of your pre-paid and non-refundable trip cost.
    3) Cancellation of your travel arrangements must occur more than 2 days or 48 hours before your scheduled departure date.
    4) Cancel for any reason returns between 50%-80% (depending on the policy).

The following events are not covered under trip cancellation but would be covered with Cancel For Any Reason:
    A) political or civil unrest
    B) war
    C) illness or death of a friend or pet

Although I did need to file a claim for this trip, I was able to travel confident with the fact that any potential travel difficulties were covered. I especially enjoy the ease of applying for travel insurance online and being able to compare coverage and prices offered by competing companies.

Fortunately, there was no need for a claim but I carried the policy with me and it was a comfort. Primary purpose of purchase was for medical evacuation if necessary and policy covered that sufficiently. The other benefits were adequate but not the real focus of our purchase.

We prepaid a lot money for a 7 week trip, and were pleased to know we had insurance.

Our situation was a good example of why you should buy tour insurance. We were two thirds of the way through a tour of the Mediterranean when we received word that my wife's sister had died. We immediately made arrangements to leave the ship when it arrived at Santorini Island. We flew from there to Athens, then from Athens to Rome, missing our flight to Madrid because our plane was delayed by a problem at the Rome Airport. The flight to Madrid the next morning was too late to catch our flight to the United States. We soon learned that the next United flight was two days later so we went to the airport hotel that we were originally to have stayed at. Arriving at home, we sent a letter to Seven Corners describing why we were submitting a claim. They sent a packet of information about what we needed to do. We ultimately sent a large packet of about 20 pages of evidence for our claim and eventually received payments covering: the missed portion of our cruise, the Alitalia Airlines transfer flights to Madrid, the fee for changing over our United Flights to the U.S., and the cost of room and meals for two days and nights spent in Madrid, a total of almost $4000. Was the process simple? No, but then our situation had a lot of complications. Was it quick? No, about two months passed between submitting the last paper and receiving payment, but we did get our losses covered satisfactorily in then end. So we will definitely use Seven Corners on our next trip.

I contacted Customer Service before our trip to inquire why we only received one card when the insurance was for both husband and myself. The representative was very helpful and pleasant and although they usually only do send one card, she arranged to send a card in my name also. Dealing with them was a pleasant experience. I do believe the cost was quite high but might have been less had we arranged for the insurance sooner.

Even though we did not use the Seven Corners insurance we were glad to know we were insured by a reputable company.. When traveling out of the USA it's a good practice to be insured.
