We had to cancel our trip just days before departure. I called Travelex, they sent claims forms immediately via email. I submitted forms and documentation by postal mail, and received full claim payment into my account within 9 days! I was amazed, because some of our friends on the same tour had cancelled months earlier, with other insurance companies, and still had no response from their insurance carriers! Our trip was delayed due to weather, we missed our connection, stayed overnight at a hotel and missed a day of our prepaid travel package. We filed a claim with all required receipts and got full reimbursement. Really glad that we had the insurance!

The process of selecting insurance was very simple, but I did have a few questions. The customer service people were very helpful in explaining differences between the plans. Of course I wish it cost less! But it is nice to know you are insured when you're leaving for a long vacation.

Most providers including Travelex allow insureds to submit claims online. Included on the website, you will find a list of "Frequently Asked Questions" along with the claim forms and a list of the required documents for each type of claim. Many of our customers review and print out this information prior to departing on their trip.
One fact that cannot be stressed enough is to save your receipts and proof of expenses so that you can be accurately reimbursed, whether it be costs due to a delay of travel for hotel or meal, or medical records for emergency treatment received. This is especially important for medical care received overseas, as it can be incredibly difficult to get this paperwork once you have returned home. For filing a claim, nothing is more important than having accurate documentation for your loss.
